Hiring in Holland | Broadcast Technology Professionals

“The Netherlands has always delivered the best deal for broadcasters and media companies looking to spread their wings. Over the last 10 years, Holland has transformed into one of the broadcasting capitals of Europe. In the middle of Europe’s economic heart, Amsterdam and Hilversum are hotbeds for the industry.” - investinholland.com

Holland is now the third-largest exporter of TV content globally… making it no surprise why the Netherlands is quickly becoming a mecca for broadcasters, manufacturers, and service providers - alongside the explosive VoD scene; with Netflix and similar basing their European operations in Amsterdam, and acquisitions like TVT and DMC in 2017 becoming more commonplace.

Tech talent from all industries is being drawn to work opportunities in Holland, where it’s quoted there are 26x job vacancy openings per available tech worker - with around 25% of Amsterdam's city population now working in tech, creating a 250k person talent pool (quoted by IAmsterdam). Even tech giants HubSpot cited Amsterdam as;

“the best city to work in tech in Europe”.

Interest in OTT & VOD is causing high numbers of experienced broadcast professionals to migrate to these technologies; and in their wake, Holland and the surrounding areas are beginning to report significant shortages in traditional broadcast engineering skills. For example, in centralised production, playout and audio engineering we’ve received multiple enquiries from clients struggling to source suitable candidates.

In light of the above, Caspian One’s engagement with broadcast communities across the Netherlands continues to expand - building on established long-term relationships, and offering our European recruitment capabilities to clients throughout Holland.

Most recently, Director Lee Barnett and consultant Scott Burton were granted the opportunity to tour our Dutch client's playout, post-production, MCR and studio facilities... at locations in both Amsterdam and Media Park, Hilversum.

During this trip, Lee and Scott spent invaluable face-to-face time with our European contacts... strengthening those relationships, making new connections, and at the same time, gaining insights into our client's company culture and expectations.

We ended 2018 with a high number of successful Amsterdam-based placements, including a permanent Engineering & Distribution Manager, an associated permanent Senior Engineer and a contract Senior Engineer.

Caspian One locate technical professionals for permanent, contract and project-based opportunities across the Netherlands. Typical industry skills we help source relate to; MAM, Playout, OTT/VOD, Audio, Live & Post Production, Cloud and Sales.

Our current focus is on a collection of live production roles, with a variety of demand-led conversations ongoing regards Cloud-based skillsets and a high volume of exciting vacancies on the horizon for 2019!
