The Challenge
A major telecommunications provider was undergoing a large-scale modernisation effort, evolving its legacy testing infrastructure to embrace automation and AI-driven efficiency. Their existing test lab environment was fragmented, with siloed testing processes slowing down firmware development cycles. As a result, testing was resource-intensive, costly, and lacked the agility needed to support next-generation broadband services.
The client needed to extend its existing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) test lab to integrate LTE, DSL, G.Fast, and FTTx technologies, while embedding modern Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) workflows. The goal was to automate the testing process, reduce the time required for validation, and create a flexible, scalable, and remotely operated test lab that any hub development team could utilise.
Our Approach
Caspian One allocated a specialist automation SME partner to lead the engagement, working under a clearly defined statement of work. Coordinated through our Project Hub, our experts collaborated closely with the client’s internal teams to design and implement a fully automated test lab infrastructure tailored to their broadband services. The project was structured around two key workstreams:
