April 2021, Caspian One Update

See this content in the original post

What a start to 2021! Since our last update in September, we’ve seen tremendous changes across our focal industries, our people, our services and much more. The pandemic has continued to drive digital innovation out of necessity; a fact recognised in FinTech with the release of the Kalifa Review in March (read more) and the growth of the Open API/Open Banking ecosystem globally.

We’re also witnessing COVID-driven change throughout Broadcast Media, with greater consumption of on-demand content, unique responses to event production and rapid adoption of Cloud-based technologies. All of this is having a direct impact on both the type of skills being required by clients – along with how companies obtain people resources to deliver services or milestone-led projects.

Here at Caspian One, in the last quarter, we’ve celebrated key anniversaries for our people and new starters, successes with clients throughout our markets and the continued achievement of working remote. Learn more below.

Anniversaries, promotions and new starters

Despite the unique circumstances created by COVID-19, we have continued to hire at Caspian One – and in January we were excited to welcome new FinTech consultant, Jack Fitt. Jack’s start with us hasn’t been the typical story, but in spite of homeworking challenges, he’s already proving to be a capable addition to the team!

Also, this quarter we’ve celebrated:

  • the 8th work anniversary of FinTech Co-Head, Phil Staples,

  • North America FinTech Manager, Danielle Gray’s 9th anniversary with Caspian One,

  • the second year for Director of Consultancy Services, Mike Elson,

  • 6 years for our fabulous Finance Supervisor, Yana Torlukova-Gardner,

  • Dominic Thornton, Senior Consultant for the Montreal Java markets second year,

  • along with the promotion of Gareth Holmes to Senior Capabilities Consultant

We’ve continued to take great strides with our service offerings in the first quarter of 2021, onboarding new and working with existing clients to meet their resourcing requirements. A particular focus has been overcoming regulatory changes with the upcoming release of IR35 in the private sector.

Finally, even with the third pandemic after Christmas, we are so proud of our people and their strength of character. We’ve all had highs and lows, we’re only human – but the respect to work, motivated attitudes and willingness to go above and beyond is highly commendable. By utilising more digital communication techniques and adapting our methods of working, Caspian One has continued to serve the needs of clientele without disruption – even assisting others with better virtual hiring practices.

We start April excited for the future of Caspian One and the companies, partners and people we work with. We’re also hiring so, If you’d like to learn more about opportunities to be part of the Caspian One team, contact work@caspianone.com or call +44 (0) 1202 979 705.
